Description

The Teknetics Tek-Point Pinpointer is a rugged handheld target locator designed to help you recover coins, jewelry, relics, and other metal targets quickly after your main detector has located them.

Unlike many VLF pinpointers, the Tek-Point uses Pulse Induction technology, giving it stable performance in mineralized soil, wet sand, saltwater environments, and other difficult ground conditions.

Its 360-degree detection field, three sensitivity levels, proportional audio and vibration response, rapid retune, automatic ground calibration, adjustable LED light, and fully waterproof construction make it a practical recovery tool for land and shallow-water detecting.

The Tek-Point is fully waterproof to 6 feet for up to one hour and operates on two standard AA batteries.

Key Features

  • Pulse Induction Technology – Performs reliably in mineralized ground, wet sand, and saltwater conditions where conventional VLF pinpointers may become unstable.

  • 360-Degree Detection – Detects metal around the probe tip and barrel for faster target recovery.

  • 3 Sensitivity Levels – Adjust detection sensitivity to suit target size, ground conditions, and recovery location.

  • Proportional Target Response – Audio and vibration intensity increase as the probe gets closer to the target.

  • Audio, Vibration, or Combined Alerts – Select the response style that best suits your detecting environment.

  • Fully Waterproof to 6 Feet – Use the Tek-Point in shallow fresh or salt water for up to one hour.

  • Automatic Ground Calibration – Helps maintain stable operation in difficult mineralized soil and saltwater.

  • Rapid Retune – Quickly reduce the detection field and zero in on a target more precisely.

  • Frequency Shift – Helps minimize interference between the pinpointer and your primary metal detector.

  • Adjustable LED Flashlight – Illuminates target holes and low-light recovery areas.

  • Lost Mode Alarm – Helps locate the pinpointer if it is accidentally left behind.

  • Automatic Shutoff – Conserves battery life when the pinpointer is left unused.

  • Abrasion-Resistant Construction – Built from durable materials designed to withstand repeated probing in soil, gravel, and sand.

  • Built-In Measurement Scale – Inches and centimeters are marked along the probe for quick depth reference.

  • Comfortable Non-Slip Grip – Provides secure handling in wet, muddy, or dirty conditions.

  • AA Battery Power – Runs on two widely available AA batteries.

Who Is the Teknetics Tek-Point Best For?

The Tek-Point is an excellent choice for detectorists who want a durable, high-performance pinpointer that can handle both normal soil and more difficult ground conditions.

It is particularly useful for:

  • Coin hunting

  • Relic hunting

  • Jewelry recovery

  • Beach detecting

  • Wet sand

  • Saltwater environments

  • Mineralized soil

  • Shallow-water target recovery

  • Muddy or wet detecting conditions

  • Detectorists who prefer AA batteries over 9V power

Its Pulse Induction design makes it especially useful for beach hunters and detectorists who regularly work mineralized ground.

Pulse Induction Technology

The Tek-Point uses bipolar Pulse Induction technology rather than a traditional VLF design.

Pulse Induction is particularly useful in environments containing high levels of ground mineralization or salt.

This helps the Tek-Point maintain stable performance in:

  • Mineralized soil

  • Wet beach sand

  • Saltwater

  • Highly conductive ground

  • Difficult recovery holes

For detectorists who regularly hunt beaches or mineralized locations, this is one of the Tek-Point's biggest advantages.

360-Degree Detection

The Tek-Point detects targets around both the tip and sides of the probe.

Use the tip when you want maximum precision.

For larger search areas, sweep the side of the probe across loose soil, plugs, sand, or the walls of a target hole.

This 360-degree detection field can significantly reduce the amount of time spent searching for a target after digging.

Three Sensitivity Levels

The Tek-Point offers three adjustable sensitivity levels.

Higher sensitivity can help locate weaker or smaller targets before extensive digging, while lower settings can narrow the detection area for more precise recovery.

This can be especially useful when:

  • A target is very close to the probe

  • Several targets are located together

  • Working around mineralized ground

  • Precise location is more important than maximum range

Proportional Audio and Vibration

The Tek-Point provides a proportional target response.

As the probe approaches metal, the alert becomes progressively stronger.

Depending on your selected configuration, the Tek-Point can respond using:

  • Audio

  • Vibration

  • Audio and vibration together

This makes it easy to judge how close the target is without relying on a display.

Automatic Ground Calibration

Mineralized ground and saltwater can cause instability in some handheld pinpointers.

The Tek-Point includes automatic ground calibration, helping it adapt to challenging ground conditions.

This is particularly helpful when recovering targets from:

  • Saltwater beaches

  • Wet sand

  • Mineralized soil

  • Highly conductive ground

Rapid Retune

The Rapid Retune function allows the Tek-Point to quickly recalibrate around the current target response.

Retuning can help reduce the size of the detection field and make it easier to locate the exact target position in a small recovery hole.

It can also help stabilize the pinpointer when local ground conditions change.

Frequency Shift

A pinpointer operating close to a full-size metal detector can sometimes cause electromagnetic interference.

The Tek-Point includes frequency shifting, allowing its pulse frequency to be slightly adjusted to help reduce interaction with your detector.

This can be particularly helpful when the pinpointer is used while your detector remains powered on nearby.

Waterproof to 6 Feet

The Tek-Point is fully waterproof to a depth of 6 feet for up to one hour.

This makes it suitable for:

  • Shallow-water detecting

  • Stream recovery

  • Freshwater hunting

  • Saltwater beaches

  • Muddy conditions

  • Rainy detecting sessions

Make sure the battery compartment is properly sealed before submerging the unit.

After use in saltwater or dirty water, rinse the pinpointer with clean fresh water.

Adjustable LED Flashlight

A built-in LED flashlight helps illuminate dark target holes and low-light recovery areas.

The light can be adjusted to suit current conditions, making it useful during:

  • Evening hunts

  • Deep target recovery

  • Shaded areas

  • Muddy holes

  • Low-light conditions

Lost Mode and Auto Shutoff

If the Tek-Point is left powered on without button activity, it enters Lost Mode.

The pinpointer reduces power consumption and begins producing periodic alerts to help you locate it.

Automatic shutoff further helps conserve battery power if the device is accidentally left switched on.

Durable Abrasion-Resistant Design

Pinpointers are regularly pushed into soil, gravel, sand, and target holes, so probe-tip durability matters.

The Tek-Point uses abrasion-resistant materials designed to withstand repeated field use and reduce wear along the probe.

A molded rubber grip provides a more secure hold when conditions are wet or muddy.

Why Choose the Teknetics Tek-Point?

The Tek-Point is more than a basic target recovery probe.

Its Pulse Induction technology makes it especially capable in mineralized ground, wet sand, and saltwater environments, while the 360-degree detection field and proportional response help locate targets quickly once your primary detector has identified the area.

Three sensitivity levels, automatic ground calibration, rapid retune, frequency shifting, adjustable LED lighting, Lost Mode, and full waterproofing provide useful control without making the pinpointer complicated to operate.

For detectorists who want a rugged, waterproof pinpointer for both land and beach detecting, the Teknetics Tek-Point offers a strong combination of sensitivity, durability, and straightforward operation.
