"I coach a youth archery club, so I purchased the 440 to find arrows that missed the target and traveled into a wooded area. Typically, the arrows disappear under a 2 to 4" layer of pine straw. The arrows have carbon fiber shafts with a stainless or brass point and some have an aluminum insert for the nock. After using older borrowed MDs and failing to easily locate arrows, I bought the 440. First use; I found three high quality arrows within 30 min. That's about $50 of arrows. Another two searches netted a couple more arrows that's been lost for over 2 yrs. Pro's: light weight and adjustable to your height, electronics are easy to use, discrimination works well to eliminate the iron and pinpoint the stainless and aluminum. Cons: The red plastic parts of my detector are 2 different shades of red. The battery cover and arm rest are the brighter red that's shown on the mfg. website. The electronics case is a darker burgundy red. I suspect I got a cosmetic blem."
